It is shielded by a thick layer of electrostatic gas,
which gives the planet its bright green glow.
People can only enter when its two moons line up
and gravitationally pull open a hole -
an event which occurs only once every 27 years.
Kalpana Burman, its first explorer,
became trapped after the hole closed on her.
When we finally retrieved her, her journal was surprisingly positive:
"The oxygen on the surface is so potent here,
I can think with more clarity than I ever have before.
The wildlife, vibrant and diverse,
challenges our assumptions about what life could be.
It is a life-commitment you are making coming to Luz Verde,
but I promise it is a commitment you will not regret."
